Ontario Sailing Hires Program Manager

Ontario Sailing is excited to announce that Megan Medlock has been hired in the role of Program Manager. She will be working in Officials Training, Cruising Instructor Programming, Special Programs and helping to build more Partnerships with the Boating Community.

Megan began her career at Ontario Sailing in 2001 managing the BOOM Mobile sailing program and supporting the growth of accessible sailing opportunities in Ontario. After gaining experience in other sectors of the marine industry Megan returned to Ontario Sailing in 2011 to manage the Instructor Development Program and the Boom Mobiles. Most recently Megan has been working with Hamilton Out of the Cold, a local charity committed to tackling the issue of food insecurity.

“It has been an amazing privilege to work with Megan over many years and I look forward to her leadership in the area of Programming at Ontario Sailing,” Executive Director Glenn Lethbridge stated.

“My passion for sailing began at a young age. I spent my summers as a child taking family sailing trip along the eastern shore of Georgian Bay and up to the North Channel,” Megan recalls. “As a teen I worked as a dinghy instructor which led me to starting my professional career at Ontario Sailing. I feel very fortunate to be able to have a career centered around something I love.”

These days Megan spends her free time in the summer at her family cottage on Georgian Bay and divide her time between, sailing, boat trips to explore outer islands, kayaking and paddle boarding.
