McLaughlin honoured at New York YC

October 9, 2025

RCYC Member Terry McLaughlin was recognized at last month’s NYYC Invitational and presented with a blazer as a past winner of the NYYC Rolex Invitational Cup (2011 & 2013)! In this photo he is presented the blazer by NYYC Jac Cross.

The two know each other well. Cross, who is Canadian but currently lives and sails in the US, was a competitive sailor who represented Canada on the 1976 Olympic sailing team and was part of the 1980 team that did not compete due to the boycott. He also served as a coach and alternate for the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. McLaughlin was a teammate for the non-games in Moscow and subsequently won silver in the FD class in Los Angeles.
