2025 Youth Sailing World Championships 

December 18, 2025

A total of 14 sailors are proudly representing Canada at the 2025 Youth Sailing World Championships held this week, December 15-19, in Vilamoura, Portugal. Over 400 of the best young sailors on the planet from up to 70 countries are descending on Vilamoura with medals up for grabs in 11 events across six classes.

Canada’s Superior: the North Shore

We’d been north before on a short two-week cruise. At the time, we were unprepared for the isolation, the lack of cell phone coverage, and the spotty VHF reception. Since then we’ve repowered, installed Starlink, and retired from work. Now, with confidence in our engine and our connectivity and more time to sail, we were Superior-ready.
