Offshore: Toronto’s Zingara Wins Division in Bayview Mac

Four Canadian boats (out of 252 total) that raced in the Chicago to Mackinac race July 12, and 13 Canadian sailboats raced in 100th Anniversary Bayview Mackinac Race July 20 out of a record-setting 334. Although outnumbered, the Canadian entries made some noise at the event.

Underdog, from Windsor YC, a C&C 35 MK1, got a 3rd in its division in the Chi-Mac, and went on to finish 1rst in the C&C 35 one-design division (13 boats) in the Bayview-Mac. Underdog also finished 4th overall.

Perennial B36.7 champion skip, Toronto’s Richard Reid of NYC, won his division in the Bayview Mac aboard Zingara (14 boats) and Huzzah from Sarnia was runner up in the division.
