Drew Mitchell to Helm of North Sails Atlantic

Apr 17, 2024

As a Nova Scotia native, Drew always wanted to come back East, having been out West with North Sails Vancouver for the last 12 years. He takes over from long time North Sails expert, and Canadian Olympic sailor, Sandy MacMillan, who began the Atlantic division of North Sails 40 years ago. A trusted name in the community, Sandy will continue to assist customers and serve the sailing community. He shares, “Drew will oversee sailmaking services and repairs at our historic loft on Pelham Street in Lunenburg. I am there to support him; we are actively collaborating on client needs in alignment with North Sails’ team selling approach.”

Drew continues, “I am ecstatic to be running a North Sails loft in the same town that I learned to sail in. The Atlantic Canadian sailing community I believe is in a growth pattern and I cannot wait to help grow and support sailing in the Maritime provinces. Looking forward to meeting and re-connecting with everyone on and off the water.”

Canadian Regional Manager Hugh Beaton adds, “We are really happy to see Drew and Sandy working together, providing expert advice and service to the Atlantic region and making our Canadian group of lofts stronger than ever.”

The purpose built loft from 1903 sits on Pelham Street in Lunenburg, a stone’s throw from the Atlantic Ocean – local phone: 902-634-3343. The 5,000 square foot loft offers full sail care and sail repair services, sales, and support.
